Tribhuwan Army Club has kicked off the KP Oli T20 Tournament with an impressive start, overpowering Madan Bhandari Sports Academy Blue by a margin of 110 runs in their opening match of Group D. Kushal Malla was the star of the match with an all-round performance.
Invited to bat first, Army notched up a total of 195/6 within the stipulated 20 overs. This is the highest score in the tournament thus far. Notably, none of the batters managed to score a half-century. Opener Santosh Karki and Binod Bhandari scored 41 and 38 runs respectively. Kushal Malla and Basir Ahamad also added 25 and 23 runs whereas Bibek Yadav smacked an unbeaten 14-ball 29.
For MBSA Blue, Mehool Shrestha picked up two wickets while the other three bowlers grabbed one wicket each.
In response, Army bundled out MBSA Blue for just 85 runs in 15.4 overs. Captain Nirbhik Pathak scored the highest 28 runs whilst Ranabir Yadav and Ronim Tiwari added 16 and 15 runs respectively.
Kushal Malla took three scalps in just 1.4 overs (1.4-0-2-3). Jitendra Mukhiya and Shahab Alam bagged two wickets each.
