Namuna Blasters has clinched the title of Koshi Premier League season 2. The star-studded team defeated Bhokraha Narsingh Arnas by 37 runs in the final match.
Invited to bat first, Namuna Blasters posted a mammoth total of 208/7 in the allotted 20 overs, courtesy of three powerful knocks from three star players. They were 25/2 but Kushal Bhurtel and Dipendra Singh Airee shared 117 runs for the third wicket. Airee smashed 78 runs from 34 balls whereas Bhurtel supported him well with 53. Kushal Malla did the finishing job, hammering 22-ball 44.
Sandeep Dhungana picked up three wickets for Bhokraha whilst Bhuwan Karki bowled well and grabbed two wickets.
Chasing a massive total, Arnas managed 171/7 in the response. None of the batters were able to play a big knock in front of a strong bowling lineup with Sujan Thapaliya’s 33 being the highest. Rohan Sah hammered 12-ball 30 whereas Sumit Maharjan made 29 runs. For Blasters, Ishan Pandey picked up three wickets whereas Kushal Malla pocketed two wickets.
Seven teams competed in a single round-robin format in the tournament with the top two teams battling in the final. Bhokraha were the table toppers with 10 points whereas Namuna finished second with nine points. The matches were played at Dr. Khalil Aazad Cricket Ground in Bhokraha Narsingh Rural Municipality, Sunsari.
Bhim Sharki – Best batter, Dinesh Adhikari – Best bowler, Player of the tournament – Sandeep Dhungana, and Emerging player – Rohan Shah were the individual award winners of the tournament.
CAN secretary Paras Khadka was present in the grand opening ceremony whereas CAN president Chatur Bahadur Chand and CAN Treasurer Padam Khadka were present in the closing ceremony of the tournament.
