Tribhuwan Army Club and Nepal Police Club secure back-to-back win in PM Cup

Tribhuwan Army Club and Nepal Police Club have registered a back-to-back victory in the ongoing PM Cup Men’s National Cricket Tournament. Both the departmental sides registered an easy win on the fourth day of the tournament.

Army thrash Sudurpaschim by eight wickets

In a match played at Siddhartha Cricket Stadium, Tribhuwan Club thrashed Sudurpaschim Province by eight wickets to register a back-to-back win.

Opting to bat first, Sudurpaschim were bowled out for just 117 runs in 45.3 overs. Aakash Chand and Sompal Kami destroyed the top order and they never got a chance to recover. Spinners then made Sudurpaschim’s life difficult, especially Shahab Alam taking four wickets (4-2-19-4). None of the Sudurpaschim batters were able to put on a fight apart from Nischal Chhetri, who remained unbeaten for 49 runs.

In response, Army Club chased the target in 23.5 overs, losing only two wickets. Santosh Karki completed a fifty in his second consecutive match (55*) whereas Binod Bhandari and Trit Raj Das made 20* and 31 runs respectively.

Police register a massive win over Koshi

Nepal Police Club bagged a massive win against Koshi Province to continue their winning momentum. Police emerged victorious by 154 runs in the match played at Extra Tech Oval Cricket Stadium.

Opting to bat first, Police piled up a huge total of 288/8 in 50 overs. Kushal Bhurtel completed his back-to-back half-century while Dilip Nath also made brisk 61 runs. Arjun Saud and DS Airee made 38 and 32 runs whilst Rashid Khan added a quick 38 at the end.

For Koshi, Bhupal Luitel picked up three wickets and Prakash Karki grabbed two scalps.

In reply, Koshi were wrapped up for just 134 runs in the 37th over, suffering their third consecutive defeat. Captain Ankit Subedi scored 21 while Sujan Thapaliya made 33* runs, apart from them no other batters were able to do anything special.

For Police Club, Karan KC was a pick of a bowler who picked up three wickets. Lalit Rajbanshi and Kushal Bhurtel also picked up two wickets each.
