Nepal Police Club (NPC) continued their dominance in domestic cricket by clinching their second consecutive PM Cup title, defeating Tribhuwan Army Club (TAC) by six wickets in a one-sided final at Siddhartha Cricket Ground, Bhairahawa.
With this victory, NPC became the first team to win back-to-back PM Cup championships, securing their fourth title overall.
Invited to bat first, Tribhuwan Army Club struggled from the outset and were bowled out for a modest total of 154 runs. Their batting lineup faltered, with only Basir Ahmad standing out with a resilient 86* runs. No other batter managed to make a significant contribution, highlighting a poor batting display by the Army team.
Nepal Police’s bowling attack was led by Karan KC, who struck early to claim three wickets, while Sagar Dhakal also impressed with three wickets of his own.
Chasing 155 for victory, Nepal Police Club displayed authority with the bat, reaching the target in just 25.2 overs while losing only four wickets. Opener Kushal Bhurtel anchored the chase with a well-crafted 61, while Amit Shrestha added 39 runs. Dilip Nath remained unbeaten on 31* to guide his team to a comfortable victory.
With this triumph, NPC not only retained their title but also cemented their place as the most successful team in the PM Cup’s history. Karan KC was adjudged as POTM for final.
