Koshi Province has bagged a dominant nine-wicket victory over Gandaki Province to register the first win of the PM Cup campaign 2025. In a remarkable display of bowling prowess, Koshi Province bowled out Gandaki Province for a mere 31 runs, marking the second-lowest total in the Men’s PM Cup tournament history.
In the PM Cup 2024, Gandaki had bowled out Koshi for just 25 runs—the lowest total in the tournament’s history.
Opting to bat first, Gandaki Province faced an onslaught from Koshi’s bowlers. The innings commenced with early setbacks, and wickets tumbled rapidly thereafter. None of the batters were able to cross the double-digit mark. The standout performance came from bowler Bipin Mahato, who delivered a sensational spell, claiming six wickets (8-3-17-6). His victims included key middle-order batters, effectively dismantling Gandaki’s lineup. Supporting him, Firdosh Ansari took three wickets for 10 runs, ensuring Gandaki’s innings concluded at a paltry 31 runs in 20.4 overs.
Chasing a modest target of 32 runs, Koshi Province approached the task with composure. Despite losing opener Chirag Sah for 10 runs, fellow opener Shakib Haq remained unbeaten with 16 runs, guiding the team to victory. Sonu Ansari contributed 4*, as Koshi comfortably reached 32/1 in just 8.2 overs, sealing a dominant nine-wicket win.
This is Koshi’s first win of the campaign. With this, every team has bagged at least one victory in PM Cup 2025.
