Nepal’s premium left-arm spinner Lalit Rajbanshi etched his name in history by becoming the first bowler to reach 100 wickets in the Prime Minister Cup (PM Cup) history. He achieved the milestone in just 42 matches during a standout performance against Karnali, where he picked up six wickets.
Rajbanshi has been in sensational form for Nepal Police Club in the ongoing tournament, already bagging 36 wickets in just eight matches. He also broke Surya Tamang’s record for most wickets in a single edition (30).
His dominance with the ball is evident as he has already registered five five-wicket hauls this season, making him the most lethal bowler in the competition. With this achievement, Rajbanshi has set a new benchmark in the PM Cup, surpassing his closest competitor, Shahab Alam, who sits second on the all-time wicket-takers list with 99 wickets from 48 matches.
His remarkable consistency and match-winning spells have been instrumental for his team. With the tournament still underway, Rajbanshi will look to add more wickets to his tally and further solidify his legacy in domestic cricket.
