Arjun Kumal scored his maiden PM Cup century as Gandaki Province registered a thrilling victory in a super over to end the PM Cup 2025 campaign with a win. Madhesh Province despite being in the top most of the time was the side to end up in a losing side.
After 100 overs of play, both teams scored 246 runs, leading to a super over to decide the match. This was the fourth tied game in PM Cup history, but the first time a super over was used.
Gandaki hammered 22 runs against Rupesh Singh in the super-over while Madhesh managed only nine against Sudip Aryal. With the victory, Gandaki finished the campaign with four points.
Earlier, opting to bat first, Madhesh posted 246/7 in the allotted 50 overs. Three batters scored a half-century to help the team post a decent score. Rohan BK (64) and Hari Shankar Shah (51) played a steady knock while Rupesh Singh hammered a 32-ball 51 at the end to give a massive boost. Bipin Khatri and Kamal Pariyar picked up two wickets each for Gandaki.
The Gandaki top-order were dismissed cheaply as Bishal Patel picked up three wickets early on. Arjun Kumal then anchored the inning adding a 100-run partnership with Dinesh Budha Magar (34). Arjun kept going and completed his first-ever PM Cup century. He scored 106 from 140 balls and became the second Gandaki batter after Anil Gurung to score a PM Cup century. With nine runs needed from the final over and two from the last ball, the batter was run out on a wide delivery, pushing the match into a super over. Bipin Khatri scored 24, while Sudip Aryal remained unbeaten with a rapid 34. Bishal Patel was the standout bowler for Madhesh, picking up four wickets.
