The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced a list of 20 players selected for the second phase of the Nepal U19 Women’s Cricket Team’s closed camp, as part of their preparation for the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier. Initially, 29 players were chosen for the first phase of the training camp.
The training camp took place in Lamahi, Dang, from September 15 to September 30. According to CAN, the players chosen for the first phase were selected based on their performances in U19 women’s tournaments, including the Maiyadevi Cup in Chitwan and the Sushil Koirala Memorial in Kohalpur. Selection for the second phase was determined by the players’ performances during the camp.

Bipisha Shahi and Aarti Mahato are the two big names eliminated from the camp. However, the squad consist of young star players like Puja Mahato, Sony Pakhrin, Krishma Gurung, Kiran Kumari Kunwar and Jyotsnika Marasini.
The selection tournament is set to take place in the UAE in November. Nepal will face Thailand, Kuwait, and the UAE, playing two matches against each team from November 6 to November 13. The winner of the tournament will qualify for the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025.
