Perth, Western Australia – The highly anticipated Yuwa Cup (2025) has once again proven to be a grand success, bringing together Nepalese and multicultural communities through sports. The tournament, held on a larger scale this year, featured Football, Volleyball, and Cricket, drawing enthusiastic participation and intense competition.
Cricket saw fierce battles among 12 teams, with Western Nepalese Cricket Club emerging as the champion after an outstanding performance in the final. Perth Nepal Cricket Club secured the runner-up position. The champions took home $1,250 AUD, while the runners-up received $750 AUD.
In football, Gurkha Boys Football Club claimed the title, winning $1,500 AUD, while Nepal United Football Club and Duke Hybrids finished as the first and second runners-up, respectively. Meanwhile, Tasty Momo secured victory in volleyball, defeating NYC in the final and taking home $1,000 AUD in prize money. The tournament featured Bhutanese teams and a few of Nepal’s former national players, adding to the excitement and competitive spirit.
Established in 2021, Yuwa continues to strengthen the Nepalese community in Perth through sports and social initiatives. President Kul Adhikari expressed gratitude to sponsors and participants, stating, “This event has fostered unity and sportsmanship, and we look forward to organizing more impactful events in the future.”

Our efforts are not limited to the Nepalese community; we take pride in making meaningful contributions to the broader Australian community, including initiatives such as blood donations”, Yuwa’s Sports Director/ Advisor – Milan Pachhai added. Also, Tournament co-ordinator – Basu Sapkota played a pivotal role in the smooth completion of the event.
