Nepal has received a big target of 140 runs against Australia in the final group stage match of the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup. Australia piled up 139/6 after opting to bat first at YSD-UKM Cricket Oval, Bangi.
Australia were in trouble early on – courtesy of Puja Mahato’s fiery opening spell. She picked up one wicket in the first over and two in the third as Australia were 14/3 in the third over. Caoimhe Bray and Eleanor Larosa then shared 72 runs for the fourth wicket with Bray scoring a powerful 45 runs.
Seemana KC picked up two wickets in the 18th over, yet Nepal couldn’t stop the run flow. They added 29 runs from the last two overs. Eleanor Larosa scored 31 whereas Hasrat Gill made a quick unbeaten 30 runs, supported by Chloe Ainsworth’s 16 runs.
For Nepal Puja Mahato was a pick of a bowler with three wickets (4-0-31-3). Seemana KC grabbed two whereas Riya Sharma grabbed one scalp.
