Nepal has been bowled out for 73 runs against Scotland in the second match of the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup. After choosing to bat first at YSD-UKM Cricket Oval in Bangi, the Nepalese team suffered a collapse in the later stages and was dismissed in 18.5 overs.
Nepal lost Sana Praveen cheaply in the second over. Sabitri Dhami and Puja Mahato then added 25 runs for the second wicket before Sabitri departed for 10 runs. Puja kept anchoring the inning but there was no significant support from the other end.
Puja top scored with 27 runs from 43 balls, with the help of three boundaries. No other batters were able to cross the double-digit score. Nepal were 64/6 after 16 overs, but they lost three in the same over. Anu Kadayat scored a crucial five not out at the end.
For Scotland, Maisie Maceira picked up a fifer. Maceira who picked up three wickets in the same over ended with a figure of 3.5-0-15-5. Nayma Sheikh and Amie Baldie picked up two wickets each.
