Departmental side, Tribhuwan Army has secured a semifinal spot from Group D in the ongoing KP Oli T20 Tournament in Pokhara. Army triumphed over Koshi Province to win back-to-back matches. They defeated Madan Bhandari Sports Academy Blue by 109 runs followed by a 39-run win over Koshi.
Electing to bat first, Army piled up a decent total of 186/7 with the help of half-centuries from Santosh Karki and Bhim Sharki. Santosh scored 50 runs from 51 balls whereas Bhim scored a quickfire 24-ball 53 that included three fours and five sixes. He was adjudged as player of the match for his terrific knock. Rohit Paudel and Binod Bhandari also contributed 23 and 17 runs respectively.
Sarwan Yadav (3) and Kamal Khatri (2) shared five wickets between them for Koshi.
In response, Koshi managed to score 147 runs before being bowled out in 18.2 overs. Opener Sonu Ansari top scored with 44 runs from 33 balls while Samir Karki played a cameo of 26-ball 34. Sujan Thapaliya also hammered 11-ball 21.
Sompal Kami and Bibek Yadav bagged two wickets each for Army. Jitendra Mukhiya, Basir Ahamad, Rohit Paudel and Shahab Alam pocketed one wicket each.
