Sandeep Lamichhane returns to Nepal’s domestic cricket as a captain of Bagmati Province. Lamichhane has been announced as the Bagmati Province’s captain for the KP Oli T20 Tournament.
On Tuesday, Bagmati Province revealed their 14-player squad for the tournament, with Lamichhane leading the team. Notably, Pratish GC, a consistent member of the Nepal national team, is part of the squad, alongside players such as Rit Gautam, Ishan Pandey, and Ram Naresh Giri. However, spinner Surya Tamang and Tilak Bhandari did not make the cut.
In the past two years, Sandeep Lamichhane have missed the domestic cricket due to his commitments with the global T20 leagues. However, the star spinner is now set to rejoin the domestic scene, adding excitement to the local cricketing landscape.
Sandeep last played domestic cricket in the Everest Premier League in September/October 2021 where he captained Kathmandu Kings XI. In March 2021, he also led the Kathmandu Mayor’s XI in the Kathmandu Mayor’s Cup.
The KP Oli T20 Cricket Tournament, scheduled to take place from November 22 to December 2 in Pokhara, is being organized by the Madan Bhandari Sports Academy.
The tournament will feature seven provinces, three departmental teams, and the organizers, Madan Bhandari Sports Academy, competing for a winning prize of NPR Five Lakhs and a runner-up prize of NPR Two Lakhs Fifty Thousand.
