Sandeep Lamichhane and Dipendra Singh Airee’s team, the Vancouver Knights, continued their dreadful performance in the Global T20 League Canada 2024. They suffered a six-wicket loss to the Brampton Wolves, marking their fourth consecutive defeat.
Opting to bat first, Vancouver made 149/4 in the allotted 20 overs. They were 90/4 in the 16th over but Richie Berrington and Asif Ali scored 38 and 17-ball 36 respectively to post a fighting total. Both Dipendra and Sandeep didn’t get an opportunity to bat.
In response, Brampton chased the target in 18.1 overs. Lamichhane was a bit expensive but picked up one wicket. Meanwhile, Airee, bowling for the first time in the tournament didn’t get any reward but was economical.
Lamichhane took a wicket with his first ball and conceded only six runs in that over. However, his second over was costly, as he gave away 22 runs, including three sixes. His final over went for 11 runs, resulting in figures of 3-0-39-1.
Airee conceded just one boundary in his four overs, finishing with figures of 4-0-18-0. He gave up only one run in the first over, followed by five runs each in the second and third overs, and seven runs in the final over. He also assisted in one run out.
Vancouver Knights are at the bottom of the table with four defeats in four matches. They play the Surrey Jaguars in the next match.
