Nepal Police Club are all set to form its female cricket team. Despite being very successful in male cricket, Police didn’t have a female team.
Nepal Police Club recently grabbed a gold medal in Cricket in the 9th National Games. Police defeated Tribhuwan Army Club in the final by eight wickets on Friday.
All three departmental sides – Armed Police Force (APF), Tribhuwan Army Club and Nepal Police Club have a Male cricket team, however, only APF has a female cricket team. AFP Club has been ruling female cricket for a long time.
Nepal Police Club is planning to build a strong squad under the captaincy of female national Cricket team captain, Rubina Chhetri.
Rubina used to play for APF Club, however, she has been representing Province 1 lately. Police are also planning to sign Nepalese female cricketers like Kabita Kunwar, Sabnam Rai, Kajal Shrestha, Ishwari Bisht, Apsari Begam, Rewati Dhami, Kabita Joshi, Laxmi Saud, Manisha Upadhaya and young spinner Hiranmayee Roy.
Police are all set to debut in the 9th National Games Women’s T20.
