Bagmati Province secured a spot in the semifinals of the ongoing KP Oli T20 tournament in Pokhara by defeating Karnali with a 90-run victory. With this back-to-back win, Bagmati has confirmed its place in the semi-final. They thrashed Madan Bhandari Sports Academy by 109 runs in the opening match.
Rit Gautam and Ishan Pandey shone with the bat, while captain Sandeep Lamichhane emerged as the standout performer with the ball.
Electing to bat first, Bagmati managed to post 189/6 in the allotted 20 overs. Rit Gautam once again was the top scorer with 59-ball 82 that included ten fours and two sixes. Ishan Pandey smacked 70 runs from just 38 balls with four fours and six sixes. The duo shared 143 runs for the second wicket.
For Karnali, Dinesh Adhikari picked up three wickets whereas Dinesh Pun and Anuj Chanara grabbed one wicket each.
In response, Karnali could score only 99 runs before losing all wickets in 17.3 overs. Arjun Gharti top scored with 24 runs while Bipin Shahi and Rabindra Jung Shahi scored 21 and 20 runs respectively.
Sandeep Lamichhane picked up four wickets (3.3-0-9-4) to dismantle the opposition for a low total. Dipesh Shrestha grabbed two whilst the other four bowlers pocketed one wicket each.
Every leading team from four groups will book a place in the semi-final of the tournament.
