Nepali Cricket team is all set to face one of the Asian Cricket Giant Srilanka in SAARC U-25 Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at Maldives tomorrow.
The fixture was scheduled for today but Bangladesh were unable to send a team and thus, the tournament schedule was revised by the Cricket Board of Maldives (CBM).
As per the new schedule, Nepal will meet India on November 3 and Pakistan on November 5 respectively. Nepal has been drawn in Group B along with the test playing Nations – Srilanka, India and Pakistan. The tournament will be played in a purpose built stadium on the island of Fuvahmulah in the South Province under an AstroTurf.
Srilanka escaped a narrow margin victory over Nepal by 2 wickets when these two countries met last time in ASIAD exactly 1 year ago. Nepal batted first and scored a small total of 73 runs in their 20 overs but Srilanka had to toiled hard to chase the target but the tailenders helped Srilanka to win the match.
