The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced Nepal’s squad for the Hong Kong Super Sixes Tournament. Sundeep Jora will lead the seven-player squad in the tournament where Nepal will play against two tough opponents.

The squad features Pratish GC and Bibek Yadav, both of whom have extensive experience playing for the senior team. Rashid Khan and Lokesh Bam, who have represented Nepal and were regulars in the Nepal A team, are also included. All-rounder Narayan Joshi, who has played one T20 for Nepal A, is part of the lineup as well. Additionally, left-arm orthodox bowler Dipendra Rawat from Karnali Province has earned a spot in the squad.

Nepal’s former captain and Nepal A coach Gyanendra Malla is the coach of the team.

Nepal is placed in Group B with Australia and England. They will play against England on November 1 and Australia on November 2.

With Nepal’s main team occupied with the CWC League 2 fixtures in the USA, a strong second-string squad is announced for the tournament.

The tournament follows the Laws of Cricket with some key modifications:

Each team consists of six players, giving the format its name.

Every innings lasts five overs, with each bowler limited to one over. Overs are six balls long, except in the final, where they are extended to eight balls.

Wides and no-balls award two runs to the batting side.

A batter must retire upon reaching 31 runs but can return if the rest of the team is either dismissed or retired.

When a team loses five wickets, the remaining batter continues with the last dismissed player acting as the permanent non-striker, meaning the opposition must take six wickets to bowl them out.
