Nepal will be facing a crucial do-or-die clash against Oman tonight (October 2) in the Canada T20I Tri-Series. After suffering two losses to Canada, Nepal must secure a victory to keep hopes alive of being a champion.
The Nepalese team began with a disappointing loss to Canada, falling short in their chase of 124 runs. However, they rebounded strongly in the next game, defeating Oman by 37 runs. In the third match, Nepal faced another close defeat, once again against Canada.
As Nepal takes on Oman in the fourth match, they must secure a win to keep their hopes of becoming the series winner alive. Canada leads the standings with four points from three matches, while Nepal and Oman both have two points, though Oman has played one fewer game.
If Nepal loses to Oman, it will secure either Canada or Oman as the champion. The winner between them in the last match will take the title. However, a victory for Nepal keeps their hopes alive due to a superior Net Run Rate (NRR). Nepal’s NRR stands at 0.310, while both Canada and Oman have negative NRR.
For Nepal to become a champion, they need to defeat Oman and will expect Oman to defeat Canada (not by a huge margin).
The match will be played at Maple Leaf North-West Ground, King City on October 2. The match starts at 9:45 PM (NST) and can be watched live on styxsports.com.
