Kathmandu – Nepal entered into the semi finals of the ACC U-19 Women’s Championship as it defeated Thailand by four wickets on Monday. Nepal has extended its winning streak now to four matches in the tournament.
Winning the toss, Thailand invited Nepal to field first. With a great bowling display from Rubina Chhetri and Sangeeta Gauchan, Nepal restricted Thailand to 86 for 4 off allotted 25 overs. Gauchan and Chhetri grabbed a wicket each. S Saengsakaorat top scored for Thailand remaining unbeaten for 34 runs.
In reply, Indu Verma played an brilliant knock of 40 runs to make victory for Nepal in 22.3 overs losing only 6 wickets. Nepal was struggling to 13 for 3 in 3 overs. Verma was later adjudged as the player of the match. Mamta Chaudhary scored 12 runs while Rubina scored 11 runs for Nepal.
Nepal will face Bhutan in the semifinal on Thursday.
