The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has unveiled the national U19 squad for the upcoming ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup Asia Qualifier. The tournament, set to begin on April 13, will be hosted at the Upper and Lower Mulpani grounds in Kathmandu.
Naren Bhatta has been named captain of the 14-member squad, which is described as well-balanced and promising. The lineup includes players like Abhishek Tiwari, Niraj K Yadav, Sahil Patel, and Cibrin Shrestha, with a mix of all-rounders and specialists aiming to bring their best to the field. The team also features rising talents such as Roshan Biswakarma, Bipin Sharma, and Yuvraj Khatri.
Nepal will compete against Oman, Afghanistan, UAE, and Hong Kong, with only one team earning a coveted spot in the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup.
As part of their preparation, Nepal is currently engaged in a series against Afghanistan, providing valuable match practice ahead of the high-stakes qualifier.
With home-ground advantage and strong support, expectations are high for Nepal to deliver a standout performance and secure qualification for the global tournament.
