Kathmandu is gearing up to host the ICC U19 Men’s World Cup Asia Qualifiers from April 13 to 19. The tournament will be played across the Upper and Lower Mulpani Cricket Grounds, with five teams—Nepal, Afghanistan, UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong competing in a single round-robin format.
Only the top team will earn a precious spot in the ICC U19 World Cup 2026, set to take place in Zimbabwe.
Nepal will kick off their campaign on the opening day, April 13, with a high-stakes clash against the UAE at the Lower Mulpani Ground. The home side will play three of their four matches at the Lower Mulpani venue and one at the Upper Ground.
To prepare for the qualifiers, Nepal recently hosted a three-match youth series against Afghanistan, where they clinched a win in the final game but lost the series 2-1. The experience is expected to be valuable as they take on some of Asia’s strongest emerging sides.
Mulpani has proven to be a lucky ground for Nepalese cricket in recent memory. During the senior men’s T20 World Cup qualifiers held there, Nepal defeated the UAE in a thrilling semifinal to book their place in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
With home advantage and rising confidence, Nepal will be eyeing a qualification to the 2026 U19 World Cup.

- April 13 – Nepal vs UAE (Lower Mulpani)
