Kathmandu Gurkhas, one among six franchises to play a part in the inaugural Nepal T20 League, has decided to omit their name from the tournament. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has officially announced that Kathmandu has withdrawn their name.
The capital-based franchise is owned by Kantipur Media Group, and Gyanendra Malla was chosen as the marquee player. Regarding the news, The franchise’s CEO, Bhawana Ghimire, said she could not speak about the owners.
The tournament is scheduled to kick off on 16th December however the preparation so far has been Zero. The tournament was expected to commence on September 24 but was pushed further considering security arrangements.
