Sita Rana Magar’s team, Tornadoes, faced a loss in the first match of the FairBreak Invitational Tournament on Monday. The Falcons women defeated the defending champions by 41 runs.
Meanwhile, The Nepalese superstar had a disappointing outing, as she didn’t get the chance to bat or bowl despite being in the playing XI.
Falcons Women posted 150 for six after being invited to bat first at Kowloon Cricket Club. UAE’s Theertha Satish scored 40-ball 57, while Mariko Hill added 38.
In reply, Tornadoes were restricted to 105/9 after a tight bowling display from Marizanne Kapp and Sornnarin Tippoch. Both picked up three wickets, whereas Kaia Arua grabbed a couple of wickets. For Tornadoes, Sune Luus scored the highest 38 runs.
Nepal national women’s cricket team captain Rubina Chhetri is also playing in the tournament. Her team Barmy Army is set to face Spirit on Tuesday.
