The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has officially announced the central contracts for the year 2025, awarding contracts to a total of 52 players—33 in the men’s category and 19 in the women’s category. The contracts are divided into four grades based on performance and contribution to the national team.
A total of 33 players have been awarded contracts in the men’s category, with five players securing the highest Grade ‘A’ contract, which comes with a monthly salary of Rs 1,00,000. The players in this category include:
- Rohit Paudel
- Dipendra Airee
- Sandeep Lamichhane
- Sompal Kami
- Aasif Sheikh
Grade ‘B’ players will receive Rs 70,000 per month, while Grade ‘C’ players will earn Rs 55,000, and Grade ‘D’ players Rs 35,000. Additionally, the ‘Emerging’ category has been introduced to support promising young cricketers with a salary of Rs 25,000 per month.
Women’s Central Contract:
For the women’s team, 19 players have been included in the contract list. Four senior players have been awarded Grade ‘A’ contracts, each receiving Rs 50,000 per month. These players are:
- Indu Barma
- Puja Mahato
- Rubina Chhetri
- Sita Rana Magar
Other grades range from Rs 35,000 for Grade ‘B’ to Rs 20,000 for Grade ‘D’ players. This contract structure aims to enhance financial stability and motivation among Nepal’s women cricketers, ensuring continuous development in the sport.
Notably, the Contract name list will be reviewed at the end of the first six months and then re-evaluated again.
The introduction of these contracts reflects CAN’s commitment to strengthening Nepali cricket at both the national and grassroots levels. The financial backing is expected to provide players with greater security and focus, further boosting Nepal’s standing in international cricket.
