CricNepal-Cricket Association of Nepal has announced a cash reward of NRs.20,000/- to each member of Under 16 team that won the ACC U-16 Premier tournament today. Nepal defeated Malaysia by 32 runs today to complete an unbeaten record at the tournament. Nepal topped the league standing with 10 points and claimed the ACC U-16 champions title for the first time.
To ice the cake Nepal’s Jitendra Singh who bagged 15 wickets(Avg:3.73, Eco:2.03) in the tournament was adjudged the Best Bowler and tiny 13 year old Anil Kharel who got 13(Avg:6.23, Eco:2.31 wickets was declared the Promising Player of the 6 team event.
CAN informed about the cash reward via Cricket Association of Nepal facebook page. “Cricket Association of Nepal is glad to announce that it will provide NPR 20,000.00 for each member of the U-16 Cricket Team as an encouragement and promotion” reads the post that came minutes after Nepal’s victory over Malaysia.
The post also informed that U-16 Cricket Team would be returning home at 11:30 am. Nepal won all of its 5 matches comprehensively despite going to the tournament without a regional(selection) U-16 tournament.
