Tribhuwan Army Club secures final spot with dominant win over Madhesh Province

Tribhuwan Army Club (TAC) has registered a place in the final of the Jay Trophy 2081 after a win against Madhesh Province in the last group stage match. They bagged a comfortable eight-wicket win in Birgunj to finish second in the points table.

On the second day, Madhesh Province was bowled out for 150 runs, gaining a slender lead of 27 runs. Following a deficit of over 100 runs in the first innings, they were forced to follow on. Mayan Yadav contributed 49 runs, while Hari Shankar Sah attempted to anchor the innings with a patient knock of 25 runs off 142 balls, which ended in an unfortunate run-out.

Basir Ahamad picked up four wickets while Shahab Alam and Aakash Chand grabbed three and two wickets, respectively.

Tribhuwan Army Club took six overs to chase the target of 28 runs, losing a couple of wickets. Shahab Alam was adjudged Player of the Match for his impressive bowling.

On the first day, Tribuwan Army Club made 225 runs after being invited to bat first. Bhim Sharki and Basir Ahamad scored a half-centuries. Ranjeet Kumar grabbed a fifer for the bowling side.

In reply, Madhesh were packed up for just 102 runs after an outstanding six-wicket haul from Shahab Alam. They were forced to bat again after trailing by 123 runs in the first innings.

TAC finished second in the points table with 55 points. They will play against Nepal Police Club in the final, which will be a three-day contest.
