Nepal edged past the United States in a thrilling Super Over finish in the second match of their three-match T20I series at Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas, on Sunday.

The match was forced into a Super Over after both teams finished tied at 170. Nepal chased down the three-run target set by the USA in the one-over eliminator, securing the series with a game to spare.

Nepal, having opted to bat first, posted a competitive 170/6. Kushal Bhurtel starred with an unbeaten 92 off 54 balls, including seven fours and six sixes, anchoring Nepal’s innings. Anil Sah contributed 25 at the top, while Gulshan Jha (19) and Rohit Paudel (18) provided quick cameos.

In reply, the USA also managed 170 for 8 in their 20 overs. Andries Gous led the chase with an impressive half-century, 62 off 43 balls, supported by Saiteja Mukkamalla’s 47 from 41. However, Nepal’s bowlers struck at key moments to slow the chase. Karan KC was instrumental, taking 3/35, while Sompal Kami chipped in with two vital wickets, including dismissals of Gous and Aaron Jones.

Nepal had previously won the first T20I by 17 runs at the Grand Prairie Stadium on Friday, thanks to an all-round performance from Dipendra Singh Airee.

The final match of the series is scheduled for Monday.
