Nepal Women’s team heads to Uganda for Quadrangular T20I Series

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has bid farewell to the Women’s Team ahead of their Uganda Tour. Nepal is set to participate in the Quadrangular Women’s T20I Series, beginning on March 8.

The farewell program was held at the CAN office in Mulpani, with CAN Secretary Paras Khadka and spokesperson Chhumbi Lama in attendance.

Nepal Women is set to compete against Uganda, Namibia and Hong Kong in a quadrangular series to be played in Uganda. This series aligns with the plan to give the Nepali women’s team greater exposure in preparation for the World Cup qualifiers.

Nepal has announced a young squad for this series. The u19 stars – Riya Sharma and Sana Praveen have been included in the squad for the first time. Rachana Chaudhary, Alisha Yadav and Ishwari Bista have also kept their place.

Similarly, two experienced campaigners – Sita Rana Magar and Kabita Kunwar are not in the squad. Kabita suffered a back injury during the home Tri-Series whilst Sita also had an injury concern.

After going winless in six matches during the home tri-series against two strong opponents, Nepal will aim for a strong performance on their away tour.
