The departmental side Nepal Police Club (NPC) has announced their squad for the Jay Trophy Men’s Elite Cup. Aarif Sheikh will captain the 15-player squad in the absence of regular captain Dipendra Singh Airee.
DS Airee will be playing for Gulf Giants in the ILT20, UAE’s franchise league, so Aarif will take over as captain for the longer-format cricket, played with a red ball and traditional white attire.
The top four teams from the Prime Minister’s (PM) Cup National Cricket Tournament – Nepal Police Club (NPC), Tribhuwan Army Club (TAC), Bagmati Province and Madhesh Province will compete in the Jay Trophy. The tournament starts on 5th January and the matches will be held simultaneously in Janakpur and Parsa.
Nepal Police Club Squad: Aarif Sheikh (c), Kushal Bhurtel, Karan KC, Lalit Rajbanshi, Gulshan Jha, Amit Shrestha, Shankar Rana, Sagar Dhakal, Rashid Khan, Arjun Saud, Dilip Nath, Dipak Serela, Sunil Daulyan, Shrawan Yadav and Avinash Karn.
NPC’s fixture:
- Jan 5-6 vs Tribhuwan Army in Birgunj
- Jan 8-9 vs Madhesh Province in Birgunj
- Jan 11-12 vs Bagmati Proince in Janakpur
