Lumbini All-Stars are bundled out for 127 runs against Pokhara Avengers in the first match of Saturday. Opting to bat first didn’t really work for them, as Pokhara’s spinners did an excellent job to restrict them to a small total.
The openers added 40 runs before Sunil Dhamala walked back for 15 runs, followed by Bhurtel’s golden duck. Top scorer Harmeet Singh was dismissed by Zahir Khan for 38 in the eighth over; Lumbini then started losing wickets swiftly.
Harry Tector, Dipendra Singh Airee, Yogendra Singh Karki couldn’t do any special. Power hitters Shadley van Schalkwyk and Gulshan Jha were also dismissed without doing any damage. Eventually, they were wrapped up for 127 in 19.5 overs.
Spinners Bipin Khatri and Zahir Khan picked up three wickets each with a very good economy. Tul Thapa, Siddhant Lohani and Aarif Sheikh also pocketed one wicket each.
