Kathmandu Knights have registered a big win against Janakpur Royals to end their winning run. Knights also move to the second position leaving the Royals behind after a 53 runs win.
Opting to bat first, Kathmandu piled up a massive 208/6 from the allotted 20 overs, the first 200+ score of the tournament. England’s Alex Blake scored 83 runs from 43 balls with four boundaries and seven sixes. Opener Virandeep Singh missed his half-century by one run as he was trapped LBW by Sarraf in 49. Azmatullah Omarzai then smacked 43 runs from just 15 balls to take his side over the 200 runs mark.
Despite the team conceding 200 runs, Royals’ Sarraf picked up two wickets and conceded just 18 runs. Every other bowler had an expensive outing.
In reply, the Royals could only make 155 runs. Azmatullah Omarzai picked up three wickets to restrict the opposition team well short of the target. Basir Ahamad also grabbed a couple of wickets, while other used bowlers also pocketed one wicket each.
Samiullah Shinwari topped the scorecard with 29 runs, while Sundeep Jora and Pawan Sarraf made 26 and 24 runs, respectively.
Lumbini All-Stars are at the top of the table with three wins from three matches, followed by Kathmandu Knights and Janakpur Royals with four points from three matches.
