Kathmandu – Hongkong and Malaysia celebrated their victory against Saudi Arabia and Maldives on 3rd Day of ACC Twenty20 Cup here in Kathmandu.
Hongkong and Saudi Arabia from Group B played their match at Pulchowk Ground. Hongkong batted first after winning the toss and scored 151 for 6 off 20 overs. At one stage they were 8/2 but CK Kruger (38 runs off 47 balls, 3 fours) and Munir Dar (54 * off 28 balls, 6 fours, 2 sixes) took the game away from Saudi Arabia.
During the chase, Saudi Arabia were bundled out for 107 in 19.4 overs and Hongkong easily secured 2 points from the match by 44 runs. Kashif Shafiq tried to pull the chase with 70 off 46 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes but all other batsmen kept on loosing their wicket at the another end. There was 5 ducks in their innings.
Irfan Ahmed and Aizaz Khan took 2 wickets each while Munir Dar took 1 wicket and earned Man of the Match trophy for his allround performance (54 runs and 1 wickets) today.
Meanwhile at TU Ground, Maldives invited Malaysia for batting after the toss. Openers H Ullah Khan made half century from 40 balls, 7 fours and 1 six and unbeaten knock of 42 runs of 37 balls from Suharril Fetri helped their team to pile up 147/8 in 20 overs. Hassan Ibrahim & Moosa Kaleem took 3 wickets each for Maldives.
Chasing a challenging target, Maldives couldn’t show their power batting and lost the match by 19 runs. Captain Moosa Kaleem scored 47 off 43 balls. Abdullah Shahid, Ahmed Faiz & H Haziq scored 20’s but that couldnot made difference during the chasing.They scored 128/7 in their 20 overs.
Hammad Ullah Khan earned Man of the Match for his half century and a wicket.
