The Cricket Association of Nepal has called 18 players in the closed camp of Nepal’s national women’s cricket team. The team is set to tour Uganda for the series starting on March 6.
The final squad that will travel to Uganda will include 15 players. Regular captain Indu Barma will lead the side with few new names. The U19 team’s star players – Sana Prabeen, Riya Sharma and Seemana KC have been called alongside Shova Rokaya. After making a debut in the home Tri-Series, Left-arm spinners – Manisha Upadhyaya and Rachana Chaudhary have kept their place.
Meanwhile, two experienced campaigners – Sita Rana Magar and Kabita Kunwar are not in the squad. Kabita suffered a back injury during the home Tri-Series whilst Sita also had an injury concern.
Nepal will tour Uganda for a series starting on March 6 and concluding on March 17. However, the total number of matches to be played is yet to be confirmed.
Nepal failed to register a single victory in the recently concluded Women’s T20I Tri-Series against Thailand and Netherlands which was played in a triple round-robin format.
