Armed Police Force (APF) Club has clinched the title of PM Cup Women’s National Cricket Tournament 2081. They defeated Sudurpaschim Province by 9 wickets to continue their unbeaten run and retain the title.

Opting to bat first at Fapla Cricket Ground, Sudurpaschim were bowled out for just 67 runs in 18.1 overs. None of the batting pair were able to form a brisk partnership against the strong APF bowling lineup. Apart from Captain Bindu Rawal (17) and Manisha Bohara (18*), no other batters were able to cross the double-digit score.

Kabita Joshi picked up three wickets and was a pick of a bowler for APF. Indu Barma and Sabnam Rai picked up two wickets each.

In response, APF chased the target in 12.5 overs, losing only one wicket. Mamta Chaudhary scored a run a ball 43 whereas Indu Barma remained unbeaten for 18 runs.

APF went undefeated throughout the tournament to secure the title. This year, the Women’s PM Cup featured a new format with the inclusion of the departmental team, Tribhuwan Army Club. The nine participating teams were divided into two groups—one with five teams and the other with four. Two teams from each group advanced to the Super 4 stage, and the top two teams from the Super 4 competed in the final.

APF and Sudurpaschim advanced to the Super 4 stage from Group A whereas Tribhuwan Army and Bagmati advanced from Group B, leaving Koshi behind.

APF captain Indu Barma was adjudged as the player of the tournament. Similarly, APF’s Mamta Chaudhary and Bagmati’s Manisha Upadhyaya were awarded best batter and best bowler respectively.
