Kathmandu – Sompal Kami, the Right-arm fast bowler was finally granted New Zealand Visa on Sunday for the upcoming ICC World Cup Qualifiers 2014.
“Sompal will join the team on tuesday after his applicated for NZ was approved yesterday”, Said Purna Lama, team manager of Nepali Team.
Currently, the Nepali team are playing in Sri Lanka for a 10-day practice tour for the upcoming ICC World Cup Qualifiers slated for New Zealand.
Previously, Kami was picked for the U-19 team for the Asia Cup but his performance during Journey to World Cup tournament helped him to broke into the senior team after taking 10 wickets.
Nepal have won the two practice matches against the two local Sri Lankan teams — Colts Cricket Club and Moors Sports Club. They will play their next match against Sri Lanka Ports Authority Club on Tuesday and Bloomfield Sports Club on Thursday before boarding for New Zealand where they will begin their last leg of preparation.
In New Zealand they are scheduled to play five practice matches with The Canterbury Centre.
