Kathmandu – Former National team Captain – Binod Das will retire from International Cricket after the Phillip Hughes Tribute match on Saturday, 11th April at Tribhuvan University Ground.
Das confirmed about his retirement from all forms of Cricket in a press meet organised by CAN held in Royal Events, Kathmandu on tuesday.
Das, 31, first played for Nepal at Under-19 level in the ICC Under-19 World Cup held in Sri Lanka in 2000. The all-rounder debuted his first class match against UAE at Sharjah in 2004. 6/29 is his best bowling figure.
He last played for Nepal in the final of ICC World Cricket League Division Four at Kuala Lumpur on September 10, 2012. He lead the Senior team from 2005-2008. He is a ACC Certified Level-III coach as well. Das was with the national team as an assistant coach during ICC World Cricket league division 2 held in Namibia.
After the retirement, he will be focusing on the coaching assignment. Bidding the farewell, CAN has appointed him as the captain of Team Blue in the upcoming Phillip Hughes Tribute Match.
