Kathmandu – Nepal Cricket Team started their Asian Games campaign with an easy nine wickets win over Kuwait at the Yeonhui Cricket Ground in Incheon today.
Nepal 21/1 (2.5 overs) defeated Kuwait 21/1 (2.5 overs) by 9 wickets
Kuwait choose to bat first but were bundled out for a mere 20 runs in 13.2 overs. Fast bowler Sompal Kami rattled the top order taking 3 wickets (4-2-4-3) while Basant Regmi wrapped up the Kuwait innings by taking another three wickets (1.2-0-1-3). Sagar Pun also enjoyed the bowling taking two wickets to his name. Bastaki Fahad, 4 runs (38 balls) was the highest scorer in the innings.
It took 2.1 overs to complete the match for Nepal. Subash Khakurel (7*) and Binod Bhandari (5*) remained unbeaten while Sagar Pun was dismissed after a quick 9(7) runs.
Nepal earned an important 2 points from this match. They will face Maldives on Sunday at the same ground.
