Kathmandu – Nepal’s All Round Veteran Cricketer Mehboob Alam has been selected in the preliminary Squad for upcoming ACC Men’s Premier Trophy to be held from April 29 to May 8 in Malaysia.
Along with Alam, Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has selected a 18 member squad which includes Paras Khadka (Captain), Gyanendra Malla (Vice Captain), Sharad Vesawkar, Sompal Kami, Shakti Gauchan, Basant Regmi, Rajkumar Pradhan, Binod Bhandari, Naresh Bahadur Budhayair, Sagar Pun, Ramnaresh Giri, Bhuwan Karki, Subash Khakurel , Aarif Sheikh, Amrit Bhattarai, Puspa Thapa and Yagya Man Kumal.
Veteran Spinner Raj Kumar Pradhan who is the leading wicket taker in the ongoing National Tournament also gets a call. Similarly, Fast Bowler – RamNaresh Giri , Aarif Sheikh and Puspa Thapa impressed the selectors at the ongoing National Tournament.
Mehboob Alam, who had been struggling with bad form for some time took 9 wickets and hammered 77, 32, 29, 57* respectively at the ongoing National Tournament being held in Pokhara and Kathmandu.

Meanwhile, Jitendra Mukhiya has been left out of the squad along with Pradeep Airee, Avinash Karn, Rahul V.K. and Anil Mandal. “Mukhiya is struggling with his backbone and is currently recovering from the injury. Therefore, we have not selected him for this tour”, Ijhar Musharaj, Coordinator of the Selection committee told to Cricnepal.
