Bagmati Province’s winning run ended on Wednesday after a big defeat against Lumbini at Mulpani Cricket Ground. Durgesh Gupta’s all-round show helped Lumbini outplay Bagmati by 85 runs.
Opting to bat first, Lumbini Province posted 234 before being bowled out in 49 overs. Openers Dev Khanal (46) and Aakash Tripathi (40) added 72 runs while the no. 10 batter Durgesh Thapa smacked 25-balls 38 at the end.
For Bagmati, Pratik Shrestha picked up three wickets, whereas Abishek Koirala and Omkar Yadav picked up two wickets each.
In reply, Bagmati were wrapped up for 149 runs in 35.3 overs. Skipper Ashok Poudel scored 31 runs. Similarly, Pratik Shrestha and Roshan Bk scored 27 and 23 runs, respectively.
Durgesh Thapa was the pick of a bowler for Lumbini grabbing four wickets (5.3-0-15-4). Tul Bahadur Thapa and Avishek Thapa also pocketed two wickets each.
Bagmati having eight points from five matches, are in second place of the table, followed by Lumbini with six points from four matches.
