Nepal Premier League (NPL) franchise Karnali Yaks has dismissed rumors regarding the sale of the team ahead of the league’s second edition.
The franchise took to social media to clarify that the team remains intact and is instead working towards strengthening its squad and overall performance for the upcoming season.
In an official statement, Karnali Yaks urged fans not to believe in misleading speculations, ensuring that the management is dedicated to making the team even more competitive.
“The franchise is not being sold; rather, we are focused on giving our best in the second season,” read the team’s announcement.
Karnali Yaks, captained by Sompal Kami, made headlines last season by signing Indian cricket star Shikhar Dhawan, a move that significantly boosted the team’s profile. The team performed impressively in the inaugural edition of the NPL, securing a spot in the playoffs.
The second edition of Nepal Premier League is scheduled for November with a mini auction in August.
