Surya Tamang and Rijan Dhakal are confirmed to play their debut match for Nepal. They will make their debut against Canada in the first ODI.
The duo will receive cap numbers 38 and 39 for Nepal in ODIs. Rijan Dhakal becomes the only third left-arm pacer to play for Nepal in ODI. Meanwhile, Surya is the eighth left-arm spinner (including Kushal Malla) to play an ODI for Nepal.
Surya was the highest wicket-taker in the recently concluded PM Cup 2024. He picked up 30 wickets from 9 matches and was adjudged Player of the Tournament as well as the best bowler. Rijan also had a decent tournament. He picked up 15 wickets and was only behind Sompal Kami for the highest wicket taken by pacers.
Nepal has won the toss and will be batting first.
