Pokhara Avengers have appointed experienced Rajiv Kumar as the head coach for the Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2024.
Rajiv is an Indian former first-class cricketer. He also captained former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni in first class career. Rajiv, 48, is a fielding coach of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super King’s fielding coach since 2018. He is also India A team’s former head coach.
Pokhara’s marquee player is Kushal Bhurtel. In the auction, they acquired Sagar Dhakal, Aakash Chand, and Dilip Nath from the A category. Narayan Joshi, Bipin Khatri, and Sunam Gautam are the other notable names in the squad.
Two NPL franchises have already signed foreign coaches: Chitwan Rhinos have signed Umesh Patwal, while Biratnagar Kings have brought in Irish Legend Kevin O’Brien.
Nepal Premier League is scheduled to take place from November 30 to December 21 (Mangsir 15 to Paush 6) in Kathmandu.
