Nepal’s second match in the 2024 T20 World Cup has been called off due to heavy rain in Florida. The persistent downpour continued until match time, making play impossible.
Due to the heavy rain, the match was called off without a toss. As a result, Nepal and Sri Lanka have each been awarded a point.
This was Nepal’s first-ever T20I encounter against Sri Lanka, making Sri Lanka the 24th opponent Nepal has faced in T20Is. Additionally, Sri Lanka is the fifth Test-playing nation that Nepal has competed against in this format.

Nepal now has one point from two matches, having lost their previous game against the Netherlands. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka has one point from three matches, following losses in their first two games.
The Nepalese team will now fly to the Caribbean for the remaining two group-stage matches. They will play against South Africa and Bangladesh on the 14th and 16th of June in St. Vincent. Sandeep Lamichhane will also join the team there and will play the remaining matches as He is already there.
