In a thrilling finale of the Quadrangular T20I Series, Kuwait edged past Nepal by just three runs to lift the title in a contest that went down to the final over.

Chasing a target of 175, Nepal were bundled out for 171 in 19.3 overs despite a valiant fightback from the lower order. At 92/8, defeat looked inevitable for Nepal, but Basir Ahamad and Nandan Yadav reignited hopes with a stunning 72-run stand for the ninth wicket. Nandan played a fiery cameo, smashing 37 off just 14 balls, while Basir anchored the innings brilliantly with a scintillating 84 from 43 deliveries.

With 11 runs needed in the final over and just one wicket in hand, Basir smashed a six off a no-ball to bring Nepal within touching distance. However, two dot balls followed, and the dramatic contest ended with Basir’s dismissal, leaving Nepal just three runs shy.

Earlier, Kuwait posted a solid 174/7 in their 20 overs, thanks to a blazing start from their openers. Ravija Sandaruwan led the charge with 63 off 36 balls, well supported by Clinto Anto (26) and Usman Patel (23). For Nepal, Nandan Yadav and Sompal Kami claimed two wickets apiece.

Despite Basir Ahmad’s heroic knock, Nepal were left heartbroken, while Kuwait celebrated a hard-fought and historic victory.
