The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced an 18-player squad for the upcoming ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup.
Experienced campaigner Hemant Dhami has been appointed as captain, with Arjun Kumal serving as his vice-captain. The squad also features a few other players with prior U19 experience for Nepal, including Aakash Tripathi and Uttam Thapa Magar. The selection was based on performances in the recently concluded U19 national tournament in Biratnagar.
Nepal’s legendary spinner Shakti Gauchan has been appointed as head coach, while Dhirendra Chand, who led Sudurpaschim to victory in the recent U19 national tournament in Biratnagar, has taken on the role of assistant coach.
The squad includes four players each from Sudurpaschim and Madhesh, three players each from Bagmati and Lumbini, two from Gandaki, and one each from Koshi and Karnali.
The ACC U19 Men’s Asia Cup 2024 will be played in UAE from November 29 to December 8. Nepal is in Group B alongside Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
