The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced a 48-player preliminary squad for the preparation camp ahead of Nepal’s crucial ICC Cricket World Cup (CWC) League 2 matches. With Nepal struggling in the tournament—having won only two of their 12 matches—this camp will be vital in forming a competitive squad for the upcoming tour of Scotland.
The squad features a mix of experienced players and several promising youngsters who impressed in the recently concluded PM Cup. This provides a great opportunity for fresh talent to break into the national team. The selection process will be overseen by Nepal’s newly appointed head coach – Stuart Law, who will get his first chance to evaluate the players and build a strong lineup for the upcoming matches.
As Nepal looks to improve its standing in League 2, this camp will play a crucial role in identifying the best combination to take on international opponents. The upcoming Scotland tour will be a significant challenge, and the team will aim to regain momentum with better performances.
Nepal will participate in a Quadrangular T20I series in Hong Kong, China, from April 9 to 13. Following this, the team will head to the UK in May to prepare for the CWC League 2 matches in Scotland, set to begin on June 2.
