Nepal and Oman have qualified for the T20 World Cup from Asia Qualifiers. Two teams were set to qualify for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 from the Asian region qualifier. Oman and Nepal successfully earned their spots after a win in the semifinal.
Nepal registered a comfortable eight-wicket win over UAE at Mulpani Cricket Ground while Oman thrashed Bahrain by ten wickets at TU Cricket Ground. Both finalists have punched their tickets to 2024’s edition in the USA and West Indies.
Oman restricted Bahrain to 106/9 after they opted to bat first. Aqib Ilyas picked up four wickets and produced a magical figure of 4-1-10-4. In response, Oman chased the target in 14.2 overs without losing any wickets. Both openers ended up with an unbeaten half-century.
Meanwhile, Nepal chased down the target of 135 runs in 17.1 overs to qualify for the T20 World Cup after ten years.
Despite both teams being qualified, Nepal and Oman will battle for the title on November 5 at TU Cricket Ground.
The T20 World Cup 2024 will see 20 teams fighting for the title. While 18 teams have already been confirmed, the remaining two teams from the African qualifier are yet to be confirmed.
