Biratnagar Kings have signed New Zealand’s star batter Martin Guptill for Nepal Premier League (NPL). That is Biratnagar’s third foreign player signing for NPL 2024.

Martin Guptill, who debuted for New Zealand in 2009, has represented his country in all three formats of the game, scoring a century in each. The 38-year-old, regarded as one of New Zealand’s finest white-ball batter, has already announced his retirement from international cricket.

Guptill has played 47 Test matches, 198 ODIs, and 122 T20Is for New Zealand, amassing over 13 thousand runs across formats. He famously scored a double century in an ODI World Cup match. With his wealth of experience, Guptill is a significant addition to Biratnagar’s squad.

Biratnagar Kings have appointed Irish legend Kevin O’Brien as their head coach.

Biratnagar’s marquee player is Sandeep Lamichhane. They signed Lokesh Bam, Pratish GC and Basir Ahmad from A category in the NPL players auction.

Nepal Premier League is scheduled to take place from November 30 to December 21 (Mangsir 15 to Paush 6) in Kathmandu.
