Kathmandu – Karan KC, who has also nicknamed Valentine’s boy, made a headline today after taking his third five-wicket haul in ODI in the first match of Tri-nation series against Namibia in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
Karan had a figure of 6 overs, 1 maiden, and 24 runs until 38.0 overs of the match, however, the death-overs bowling helped him to get all five wickets. He was economical but wicketless until that stage.
During his seventh over, he dismissed Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton, caught by Gyanendra Malla for 8 runs. Likewise, at the 45th over, he was brought for the remaining three overs and immediately got success dismissing Jan Frylinck for 13, his second wicket.
His ninth over produced a massive wicket of the centurion Michael van Lingen, who was on 133 runs. Lingen was caught by Airee. At the final over the innings, Karan got hammered for two boundaries but came back dismissing the dangerous batter Zane Green, who played a knock of 34 runs. The fifth wicket came in at the very last ball of his spell and end of the innings as Bernard Scholtz was caught for 0.
Earlier, Karan held two five-wicket hauls in ODI cricket. Meanwhile, he has one five-for to his name in T20I cricket against P.N.G.
